TOG TIMES RECIPES -Baby Back Ribs
Consider scaling the recipe below based on your desired number of servings. You can determine the ratios by multiplying or dividing the measurements.
Ingredients for the rub
- 1 rack of baby back ribs
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons of paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
Ingredients for the honey BBQ sauce
- 1 whole bottle of Kraft’s Slow-Simmered Hickory Smoke Barbeque Sauce (17.5 oz or 496g)
- ¼ cup of honey
- ¼ cup of ketchup
- crushed red pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon Texas Pete Hot Sauce
- 1 tablespoon A.1. Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons of Heinz’s 57 Sauce (Original or Infused Honey)
- 1 cup of apple cider vinegar
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 250F (120C). If grilling, 752 F (400C).
- Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl for the honey BBQ sauce and test the taste. If needed, dilute the sauce with some water and set aside.
- Mix the ingredients for the rub and set aside.
- Line a cooking tray with aluminum foil.
- Using a paring knife, remove the membrane from the bone side of the ribs. (This step is only necessary if you buy the rack with the membrane).
- Puncture your ribs with a thin knife or rod.
- Rub the mixture of rub onto each side of the ribs.
- Wrap the rack individually with foil.
- Place the wrapped ribs meat side down on the cooking tray.
- Place the tray in the oven and bake the ribs for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- After the time has elapsed, remove the ribs from the oven.
- Open the foil and brush the ribs with the prepared honey BBQ sauce on both sides, leaving the meat side up.
- Close the foil wrap.
- Increase the oven temperature to 350F (180C) and return the ribs to the oven for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and slice ribs into strips.
Optional: Glaze the ribs with extra sauce at and base in the oven for 10 minutes.
